Choir

Junior Choir

The Junior Choir consists of between 12 and 20 girls and boys whose ages range from 7 to 14 years. Full training is given, following the RSCM’s Voice for Life scheme and the RSCM Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards. We are particularly proud of our Gold Award holders. This, the highest Voice for Life Award, requires the candidates to demonstrate exceptional loyalty, industry and musicianship, which is tested in an hour-long one-to-one examination, with substantial written preparation.

We run a waiting list for the Junior Choir. To add a name please contact the Director of Music.

The Juniors usually sing at the 10.30am Communion service on Sundays. There is provision for them to join the Junior Church or Salt & Pepper groups during the service. Practices are every Wednesday 6.30-7.30pm at the church.

Adult Choir

Juniors move up to the Adult Choir at the end of school year 9 or, for boys, when their voice changes.

The choir has a wide range of ages and experience.

Adults sing at the 10.30am and 5.30pm services on Sundays, though there is no pressure to do both, and of course also at the major festivals. Rehearsals are held every Wednesday 7.45-9.00pm.

If you are interested in joining the Choir, please contact the Director of Music.
