About the event

Every year on All Souls Sunday we hold a special service to remember before God and pray for our loved ones who have died in the last few years. This year our service will be held on Sunday 29th October at 5.00pm. The service will last under an hour and will be followed by refreshments, and we very much hope that you and your family will be able to come.

Bereavement is never easy, and we hope that you will find this service a comforting opportunity to reflect spiritually on the loss of your loved one. It is always a very moving experience with bible readings and excerpts from Faure’s Requiem sung by the choir as candles are lit in memory of those whose names have been read out aloud in the midst of prayerful and loving reflection.

This service will be live-streamed on YouTube, as we have found that this is helpful for people who are housebound, in hospital or unable to attend in person for any reason. Please be assured that there will be general camera views only and no close-up views of individual members of the congregation.

It would be very helpful to know if you would like to come and if so, how many of your family may come with you. Please reply to vicar@stjohnsredhill.org.uk by Friday 27th October.  If you have any additional loved ones whose names you would also like read out at the service, please do include these names in your reply email.

We very much hope that you will be able to join us for the service and for refreshments afterwards.

Yours sincerely,

Revd John Kronenberg

Vicar, St John the Evangelist, Redhill
